The town of Friars Point has two candidates running for mayor in the upcoming general election on June 8.
Friars Point mayor James Washington is running for reelection against former mayor Catherine Miller. Washington served from 1977 to 2001, 2005 to 2013 and again since 2017. Miller was mayor from 2013 to 2017.
Friars Point has five seats for alderman and six candidates.
Christie Bee, Charles Fair, Shada Jakes, Vinetria Johnson, Marva J. Sawyer and Ralph A. Scott are the candidates.
Officials from the town of Jonestown were contacted requesting the names of the candidates for the June 8 election, but they did not submit them by presstime today.
