A 27-year-old Clarksdale man was killed and three others injured after an eruption of gunfire early Saturday morning in the parking lot of a Clarksdale business.
The murder was the city’s 12th homicide of 2018.
Demarcus Partee died in the shooting, while the other three sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the shooting at BeeCee’s Place at 857 Desoto Ave. Extended.
Officers reportedly retrieved more than 100 shell casings from the gunfire that erupted around 1:30 a.m. in the parking lot at the business where a private party was being held. A caller reported multiple shots were fired and multiple subjects were shot, said a press release from the Clarksdale Police Department.
More than two hours later, police officers were still gathering evidence at the scene.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigations is assisting the CPD in investigating the incident.

The fatal shooting was the second in five days and the third within 19 days in Clarksdale.
On Tuesday night, Nov. 13, a 25-year-old Clarksdale man, Zavian Griffin, was killed in a shooting at the Eastgate Gardens apartment complex located off Espy Drive in Clarksdale.
That shooting came two weeks after a 38-year-old woman, Lakesha McGee, was shot and killed in an Oct. 29 shooting at a home located at 910 Cheyenne St. in Clarksdale. McGee was visiting her cousin, 29-year-old Jeremy McGee, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body and was taken to a Memphis hospital.
As of Sunday night, there had been no arrests in the three cases.
During a meeting held Monday, Nov. 12, Clarksdale Police Chief Sandra Williams told members of the Clarksdale Board of Mayor and Commissioners that police had made arrests in seven of the 2018 murder cases and were awaiting the results from the state crime lab that she believed would lead to another arrest.
