The Tunica County Sheriff’s office is looking for information on a man found dead in a rural area Wednesday afternoon.
As suspicious vehicle was reported to Sheriff’s deputies about 1:30 p.m. March 25 in the area of Highway 4 and Limerick Road. Officers located the vehicle parked beside a grain bin in the 100 block of McLean Road and found a man inside who had been shot.
Pafford Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene and found the man unresponsive. Deputies then called Coroner Glen Grant to the location and the individual was pronounced dead.
Tunica County Sheriff’s Department information officer Clara Cupples said an NCIC search identified the man at Jamey Petty, 35, of Olive Branch. Petty had been reported missing by Southaven Police since Monday.
