Clarksdale Physical Therapy

- Favorite Physical Therapist

Physical therapists are movement experts who optimize quality of life through prescribed exercise, hands-on care and patient education.

And Clarksdale Physical Therapy has been doing that for their patients since December 1999.

Clarksdale Physical Therapy was named the Clarksdale Press Register’s favorite according to the 2020 Reader’s Choice ballot.

“I hope it is because they feel we will really work hard to get them where they want to be functionally,” said Physical Therapist Joan Tedford of the award.

Physical therapists teach patients how to prevent or manage their condition so that they will achieve long-term health benefits. PTs examine each individual and develop a plan, using treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. In addition, PTs work with individuals to prevent the loss of mobility before it occurs by developing fitness- and wellness-oriented programs for healthier and more active lifestyles.

Tedford said Clarksdale Physical Therapy uses a team approach with Diane, Kirk, Tyler, Myron and Mersadies working closely together to assist patients with meeting their goals and health needs.

A local business, Tedford said she is honored by the selection.

“I am most proud that we have a caring community and this is reflected in seeing our patients being very supportive and encouraging one another,” said Tedford. “They motivate each other to meet their goals.

“We are meant to care for one another and this career enables us to do this,” said Tedford. “It is very rewarding to see your patients get better.”

State licensure is required in each state in which a physical therapist practices.
