Lee Academy opened the 2020 softball season with two road wins Monday and Tuesday.
The most recent victory was 5-1 at DeSoto School Tuesday afternoon.
The Fillies got things started in the first inning when Faith Carter Bailey singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Jett Harrell took the win for Lee Academy Fillies Varsity. She surrendered one run on four hits over seven innings, striking out 12.
Lee tallied 14 hits in the game. Bailey, Harrell, Emily Moser, Grace Carpenter, and Olivia Smith all managed multiple hits for Lee Academy Fillies Varsity. Bailey went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Lee Academy Fillies Varsity in hits.
The Fillies also won 4-1 at Tunica Academy Monday afternoon.
Lee got the offense going in the first inning. Bailey drove in one when she singled.
Harrell earned the victory in the circle for Lee. She surrendered one run on four hits over seven innings, striking out nine.
The Fillies had seven hits in the game. Moser and Bailey each managed multiple hits for Lee. Bailey and Moser each collected two hits to lead the Fillies.
Lee is scheduled to host its annual softball tournament all day Saturday.
