A man has been arrested in connection with the shooting of two men, one of which has died, prompting a charge of murder.
The Clarksdale Police Department responded to a call of a shooting in the 300 block of Issaquena Avenue shortly after midnight and found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.
Officers identified the victims as brothers Deshawn Robinson, 25 and Dewayne Robinson, 24, shortly after their arrival at 12:38 a.m., Wednesday.
Deshawn Robinson died at the scene and Dewayne Robinson was transported to the emergency room at Northwest Mississippi Medical Center in Clarksdale and later transported to Region One in Memphis.
Police have said in a statment their investigation led to the arrest of Cornelius Green, 33, at his residence at around 2 a.m. Green has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Murder and is currently in the Coahoma County Jail awaiting an initial appearance set for Thursday afternoon in Clarksdale Municipal Court.
