There will be food, fun and lots of music at the Fifth Annual Mules & Blues Fest in Marks Oct. 4-5.
It all gets started with a dedication ceremony and mule train tribute at 10 a.m. Friday at the Quitman County Interpretive Center with a picnic at noon.
Saturday opens with a 5K walk/run followed by arts and crafts and food ventors. The music starts at 10:30 with Christone “Kingfish” Ingram to take the stage along with other local talent.
Ingram, the head-turning 20-year-old blues guitarist and vocalist from Clarksdale, will celebrate the release of his Alligator Records debut album, Kingfish, with a free performance at 4:45 p.m. Others scheduled to play are the Gospel group George Dean and G4 at noon and country western blues artist Steve Azar at 5:45 p.m.
The co-emcees of the 2019 Quitman County Mules and Blues Fest In Marks, Mississippi are dynamic Clarksdale native brothers Kenneth and Luther Lackey.
