Dear Editor,
During the month of February, there were articles of people being recognized for being the first black in their field of occupation.
I would like to recognize a very good person and friend of ours: Ms. JoAnn Blue for being the first black director of our Carnegie Public Library.
In saying this, we the citizens of Clarksdale should be very proud of Ms. Blue’s success. In the February 26, 2020 issue of the Clarksdale Press Register, our Carnegie Library was honored by its peers and recognized as a Mississippi Star Library. This was a great honor.
As citizens of Clarkdale let’s keep supporting Ms. JoAnn Blue and her staff so Clarksdale can continue having the best library for all to enjoy.
Sincerely,
Ms. Lanell Stewart and Ms. Ruben Smith,
Clarksdale, Miss.
