During the 2020 Legislative Session, with assistance of fellow senators and representatives, six projects representing allocation of $2.95 million for repairs and upgrades were awarded around the area.
The City of Batesville will receive the largest share with $1 million awarded for the Concourse Workforce Development Project, a plan to turn a former outlet mall into a training center under the auspices of Northwest Mississippi Community College.
Other recipients are:
• Friars Point: $500,000.00 for constructing a new Town Hall.
• Quitman County: $400,000.00 for repairs, restoration and a new elevator at the courthouse.
• Coahoma County: $400,000 for a Blues Museum.
• Crenshaw: $300,000 for street paving.
• Como: $250,000 for street paving.
• Lambert: $100,000 for ball park renovations.
