Planters Bank has announced the promotion of Margaret “Maggie” Powell to Assistant Vice President in Accounting for the Planters Bank system.
Powell graduated from Northwest Community College in 2009 and received her Bachelors in Accounting from the University of Mississippi.
She began working for Planters Bank in 2018 and worked as a controller for KIPP Delta Public Schools for six years.
“Maggie is a great representative of the Planters Bank mission,” said Deborah Wimberly, CFO of Planters Bank. “She strives to use her talents to provide top-notch service to our banking staff so they, in turn, can better serve our customers,”
Powell is an active member of the Clarksdale branch of Kiwanis and volunteers with the American Legion to place flags on veteran graves on American holidays. She is married to Houston Powell, and they are members of Webb Baptist Church.
Celebrating 100 years of banking, Planters Bank was founded in 1920 in Ruleville. In 2016 Planters Bank acquired Covenant Bank with locations in Clarksdale, Batesville, Tunica and Southaven.
Planters Bank has grown to a region-wide banking system, with assets over one billion dollars, serving 13 communities in 19 locations, as the bank of choice for customers across Mississippi and the region.
