Police investigating two burglaries

The Clarksdale Police Department is investigating two burglaries that occurred last night.

Officers were called to 1029 Ritchie Street and spoke with C.W. Moore who said he left his home to carry a friend home and when he returned his door was kicked in and his wallet was missing.

The incident was reported at 8:20 p.m. Wednesday.

Moore said he was missing currency and other wallet documents and cards.

The case was assigned to Assistant Chief Vince Ramirez.

The second burglary was reported at 8:26 p.m. on Page Street.

Officers responded to the area of the 500 block of Page Street and spoke with WC Brooks Sr, who said left his home and when he returned, he found that some unknown person had gotten into his home.

Two flat screen televisions were reported taken in the burglary.

This case was also assigned to Chief Ramirez.

Clarksdale Assistant Chief Ramirez has asked anyone with information about these two burglaries to call the Clarksdale Police Department at 621-8156, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477or simply dial 911. All calls remain anonymous and cash is paid to those providing information that leads to solving this crime.

The community is reminded to call police immediately if they spot something suspicious in their neighborhood and officers will respond.

Adults are reminded that while Clarksdale no longer has a blanket curfew, juveniles are not to be out from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. and parents or guardians or adults with them can be fined for curfew violation of youth in their care or in their car.
