Pastor and Mrs. Julian Brite Hays Jr. of Raymond, formerly of Tutwiler, announce the engagement of their daughter Anna Catherine Hays to Tyler Jordan Zachary, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Ray Zachary of Sulphur, La.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Lillian Florence Taylor Hays and Julian Brite Hays Sr. of Bowling Green, Ky., and the late Geraldine Stanford Goudelock and Leander Bayne Goudelock of New Albany.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of the late Marie Thonton Zachary and James Ray Zachary of Randlett, Okla., and the late Faye LaVerne Mixon McDougald and Walter Lester McDougald of Sulphur.

Miss Hays is a 2005 homeschool graduate. She was graduated magna cum laude from Mississippi College in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design.

Following graduation, she was associated with Ergon, Inc. of Flowood in the marketing department. She is currently the Chief Operating Officer of the Omega Group Advertising Agency of Ridgeland. In 2018 she was honored as the Distinguished Young Alumna of the Year by the Art Department at Mississippi College.

Dr. Zachary is a 2007 graduate of Sulphur High School in Sulphur. He was graduated summa cum laude from McNeese State University in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. He received his medical doctorate from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center at Shreveport in 2015. He completed his internal medicine residency in 2018 and his endocrinology fellowship in 2020 both at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

The couple will exchange vows on Sept. 19, 2020, at First Baptist Church of Jackson with a reception to follow.
