A woman has been found dead along a Coahoma County road and Sheriff Charles Jones is seeking information about the incident.
Coahoma County 911 was contacted about 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, by a person who said a woman was lying off the roadway of a county road. Deputies were dispatched to the scene.
A press release from the Coahoma County Sheriff’s Department said the woman was unresponsive and deputies called Pafford Ambulance Service, who also responded to the scene.
The Coahoma County Sheriff’s Department did not name the road or part of the county where the woman was found.
The press release said the woman was identified at Tyronnica Hawkins, 38, of Clarksdale.
An autopsy has been requested and the Sheriff said the incident is being considered a death investigation as of Monday afternoon since there were no noticeable signs of trauma to the body.
No other information on this incident was given.
