A Clarksdale woman was shot in the lower back early Monday morning and police are seeking information on who did it and why it happened.
Clarksdale Police responded to a call of shots fired in the area of 439 South State Street near the intersection with Jackson Street and found Tirua Hodges had been shot in the back.
Hodges was transported to Region One hospital in Memphis by helicopter and she was listed in stable condition.
Details of the shooting were not released and police are seeking information from the public on the incident.
