Do you remember the place and time that you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior? Many can tell you the exact time, place, and what they were doing. This was and is the biggest decision you have ever made and the reward for doing this is out of this world!
I remember reading that a man came to accept Christ and have faith in Him while walking through an airport. This man having done this several decades ago made the statement that “he met Jesus in the airport and he hasn’t landed yet”. When he had his salvation experience and Jesus became real to him he stated that he wanted to share the good news to everyone he meets.
There are many that have accepted Christ as their Savior but have a fear of sharing their faith. Many are afraid they don’t know scriptures well enough to explain the plan of salvation. Many are scared of rejection. Many have the fear of embarrassment stepping into a worldly conversation and talking about Jesus.
There are many reasons Christians come up with about their lack of sharing their faith. I always tell them that your actions speak louder than any words. The way you live your life and the way you act and speak around your friends and others will speak volumes about you and your Christianity. I have realized in my experiences of dealing with people that 90% of the time they will open the door for you to share your faith about Jesus and His saving grace. People are hungry to hear the gospel and most of the time the only time they will hear it is from people like you and me. They are not church goers but still have a hunger for the gospel message.
We need to realize that the victory we have in Jesus is too big to keep to ourselves. He will supply the words we need when witnessing to others if we have true faith in Him. Many will say “I don’t know the Bible well enough” to speak to others. Wisdom comes from talking with others and should you not know certain verses to share about salvation, tell them you will look them up and get back to them. Again, many times when conversing with the people around you they will quote scripture to you that you may not have thought off, it’s just that they are not letting go of worldly situations and material possessions to put their entire soul and faith into believing in Christ and his promise of everlasting life.
We are told in Colossians 4:4-6; “Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let you speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.”
When we realize the love of Christ is always in us then it becomes easy to share His good news.
