Georgia Hines Paden McCraney, 90, of Clarksdale, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford.
Born in Alabama, she lived and raise her family in Clarksdale.
She was Valedictorian of Myrtle Hall Class of 1952. Georgia achieved a prominent spotlight by becoming Clarksdale’s first African American Radiologic Technologist and being one of the first in the state of Mississippi. She was a member of AART and ASRT professional radiological association.
She held the oldest living membership of Chapel Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She was also a Heriones of Jericho and Zeta Amica.
She leaves behind a strong family and a number of friends and neighbors.
A public viewing will be held Dec. 26 at Delta Burial Funeral Home and the funeral services will be Dec. 27th at 1 p.m. at Chapel Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 1057 Page Street in Clarksdale.
