Attorney William O. “Bill” Luckett, Jr. of Clarksdale was elected as a Fellow of the Mississippi Bar Foundation recently.
He was inducted into membership at the Foundation’s Annual Meeting and Fellows Induction Ceremony held at the Old Capitol Inn in Jackson in April.
Luckett received his B.A. degree from the University of Virginia in 1970 and his J.D. from the University of Mississippi in 1973. He has practiced law in Clarksdale continuously since that time.
His practice focuses primarily upon civil litigation, entertainment law and family law. He has taught law courses at the Law School as well as in the Department of Applied Sciences at the University of Mississippi.
In addition to his law practice and teaching, he has varied interests ranging from being a member of the Screen Actor’s Guild to a co-owner of Ground Zero Blues Club.
He has served on numerous state-wide boards and enjoys his current membership on the Mississippi Humanities Council. He celebrated his 30th year anniversary in 2014 as an AV-rated attorney with Martindale-Hubbell.
He is married to Francine Luckett, and the couple has three children and a growing number of grandchildren.
Luckett is an Eagle Scout and a veteran.
The Mississippi Bar Foundation was organized in 1963 to improve the administration of justice. Among other programs, it presently administers the Interest On Lawyers Trust Accounts Program, which has awarded over fourteen million dollars to public interest, law-related programs in Mississippi.
