The Lee Academy boys and girls basketball teams will both be playing in the North State tournaments after competing in the district tournament at Indianola Academy last week.
The North State tournament is at Heritage Academy with both the Colts and Fillies going in as No. 4 seeds.
The Colts will face Heritage Academy today, while the Fillies will go against Leake. Both schools need wins to keep their seasons alive.
The Colts defeated North Delta, 86-54, on Thursday with D.J. Vassel’s 22 points leading the way followed by Seth Campbell with 16 and Brett Wilson and Phillip Brownlee with 14 each.
The Fillies also won on Thursday with a 61-48 victory against Kirk Academy.
Anna Byrd had 17 points followed by Emily Moser with 15.
In the semifinals on Friday, the boys lost to Indianola 66-43, while the girls lost to Bayou Academy 52-50.
The Colts lost to Kirk Academy in overtime on Saturday 51-47, while the girls lost to Indianola 56-49.
Wilson led the Colts against Indianola with 15 points, while Vassel had 14 against Kiurk and Wilson and Phillip Brownlee had 13 each.
Emily Moser had 18 points against Bayou Academy, while Byrd had 15.
Moser had 19 points against Indianola Academy, while Ashlynn Smith had 15.
