The Mississippi Delta Elite Amateur Athletic Union basketball team has scheduled a “Youth Lock In” event for this weekend.
It is an opportunity for the parents to get a night out while children in grades two through six are at the Coahoma County Expo Center.
It will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 16 and run through 9 a.m. Sunday, March 17.
It is $10 per child to participate.
It is an opportunity for children to be with their friends, eat food and have fun.
Concessions will be sold.
There will be movies, fun and games in a safe and supervised environment.
Security will be provided.
Breakfast will be served.
Children must bring a sleeping bag or a mat, a pillow and a blanket.
The Mississippi Delta Elite has been an AAU basketball program in Clarksdale for the past two summers and has teams of several age groups.
Both boys and girls are able to participate and games are played in several different states.
The Mississippi Delta Elite will once again be back in 2019.
Athletes from throughout the area will have the opportunity to join the team.
