SARDIS - James Clyde Rayburn, Sr., 84, died Saturday, July 29, 2023, at home.
Visitation is Thursday, Aug. 3, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale. Funeral services follow at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Greenville.
Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale is handling the arrangements.
J.C. was a baseball coach in Greenville. He was a member of Bears Gym and enjoyed fishing, running, body building, his family and his grandchildren.
Survivors include: sons Mark Rayburn (Kim) of Yulee, Fla., James C. Rayburn, Jr. of Fort Drum, N.Y.; daughter Tiffany Rayburn Drewrey of Sardis; Seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Burton Rayburn and Alma Huffstickler Rayburn, his wife Betty Self Rayburn, five brothers and a sister.
