CLARKSDALE - James Eugene Jennings, 92, a retired salesman for over 50 years at Lewis Supply Company in Memphis, died April 30, 2023 at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo.
Visitation is Wednesday May 3, 2023, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Clarksdale Baptist Church in Clarksdale. Funeral services are 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Clarksdale Baptist Church with burial in the Oakridge Cemetery. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, is handling the arrangements.
Mr. Jennings loved his Ole Miss Rebels and his cat Trouble. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, deer, and turkey hunting with turkey hunting his favorite. He coached all of his sons in Little League Baseball for over 20 years. He was the voice of Clarksdale High School Wildcats for 10 years.
Survivors include his sons James E. "Jimmy" Jennings (Edna) of Hernando, Scott Raney Jennings of Rena Lara, and Jerry Wayne Jennings (Monica) of Clarksdale; grandchildren Amanda Jennings Whittington of Hernando, Bradley Wayne Jennings (Kate) of Clarksdale, Jayme Jennings Williams (Jimbo) of Byhalia, Kristin Jennings Criddle (John) of Merigold, Jake Pearson of Indianapolis, Ind.; great-grandchildren Gavin Lee Jennings (Karleigh), Caitlin Annalise Jennings (Nathan Casburn), Bradley Wayne Jennings, Jr., Baylor James Jennings, John Thomas "Jack" Jennings, Aden Jennings Blansett (Anna Madison Wood), James Tate Whittington; great great-grandchildren Gatlin Wayne Jennings and Jasper James Jennings.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Nora Jane "Sister" Jennings; brothers J.W. Jennings and Bobby C. Jennings; daughter-in-law Rhonda Keel Jennings and special friend Norma Weiland.
