Leah Bryna Isaacson Ehrich passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 in her home in Dallas, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. She was 96 years old.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Melvin Ehrich and her parents Eva and Abe Isaacson of Clarksdale and her sister Mildred Wasserman of Eugene, Oregon. She leaves behind her three children, Stella Ehrich Brownstein and her husband Fred Brownstein of Vermont, Lisa Ehrich and Rick Maxwell of Dallas, and Alan Ehrich and his wife Trudy Ehrich of Waveland, Miss. She leaves five grandchildren, Eric Brownstein, Vanessa Brownstein, Jordon Ehrich, Marisa Capozzi and Evan Morris; and 4 great grandchildren, Olivia and Owen Capozzi and Emma and Stella Morris.
Leah was an exemplary wife and mother; gracious, loving and devoted to her family. Her love radiated to include many in the Clarksdale and Dallas communities. With her practical wisdom, sunny disposition and unfailing optimism she was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Throughout her life, Leah was also dedicated to her artistic pursuits. Talented in both sculpture and painting, she maintained a home studio where she worked daily. She was an avid reader, an intellect and a world traveler. She will also be remembered for her generosity and her charitable spirit.
Donations in Leah’s memory can be made to the charity of your choice or to the Southern Poverty Law Center, Doctors without Borders or to St. Jude Hospital.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 2 at 11 a.m. at Beth Israel cemetery in Clarksdale. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, is handling the arrangements.
