To the Editor:
As a former pastor of Clarksdale, I was disappointed to read that the city of Clarksdale has passed a so-called “LGBT-inclusive non-discrimination ordinance.”
As anyone who keeps up with the news knows, the God-hating radical LGBT organizations use these “non-discrimination ordinances” to intentionally attack and persecute people of faith who will not take part in or support their immoral acts. They intentionally ask a Christian owner of a business to do something they know a Bible-believing Christian can’t do. And then, along with violence and hate, they will use this ordinance as a tool to destroy their business and them personally.
Look it up on the Internet. It is in the news every day.
I have been away for almost 10 years, but surely there are still some God-fearing people left in Clarksdale.
I don’t know who is on the city board now and it doesn’t make any difference. They voted unanimously to do this, so the people of faith should unite and unanimously vote them out and replace them with church-attending, God-fearing people who would protect the religious freedoms and rights of all.
Second thing, if you are a florist, baker or a renter of space for events, move your business outside the city limits of Clarksdale. Because, if you are a devout Christian, (thanks to your city officials) these God-haters are going to come after you.
While I don’t live there any more, I still don’t want any brother or sister in Christ to be persecuted for their faith.
I loved Clarksdale and my prayers are with you.
Your brother in Christ.
