Clarksdale Police were called to the 1400 block of Peachtree in reference to a robbery.
A male complainant told officers he was followed by two male subjects who caught up with him and demanded his wallet. The complainant stated he was pushed to the ground and the subjects attempted to take his wallet, but he held on to his wallet.
The victim said when a witness came to help him, the two subjects ran away.
The culprits were located in the area by police and taken into custody. The subjects were identified as juveniles and detained by police.
Robbery is deemed a violent felony and is among the most serious crimes in Mississippi. Juvenile found guilty of this crime can be detained until they are 18, or if the circumstances allow, they can be charged as an adult.
Robbery can carry a stiffer sentence than manslaughter, aggravated DUI causing death, drug trafficking, shootings, and some forms of murder. Armed robbery can carry up to life in prison, served day-for-day, without parole.
A person can be convicted of robbery even if he just makes an attempt.
