For the third weekend in a row, Clarksdale has reported multiple shots fired calls phoned into the police.
Clarksdale saw six reports of shots fired three weeks ago and that was followed by a dozen reports of shots fired the following week.
Police have been closed mouthed about what might have sparked the recent reports.
City leaders have said this is a problem across the Delta and Clarksdale is not immune to it. City leaders have not said how or if they they plan to stop it.
Police did not say if they believe the incidents are related or are revenge shootings from earlier shots fired locations.
The most recent reports of shots fired are:
• 600 block of Garfield Street.
• 800 block of Carr Street.
• 100 block of West Second Street.
• Area of Bolivar and Lincoln Place.
• 500 block of School Street.

The Clarksdale Police Department urges the community to call them immediately when they hear shots fired. Officers do respond to the scene, look for evidence and will gladly speak with the caller about the incident. Callers are asked not to touch shell casings and always to identify themselves to policemen responding to calls of shots fired.
If any person shoots a firearm of any nature or description into any house or any other building usually occupied by persons, whether actually occupied or not, they shall be guilty of a felony whether or not anybody is injured.
Upon conviction they will be punished by imprisonment in the state penitentiary for a term not to exceed ten years, or by imprisonment in the county jail, fined up to $5,000, forced to pay restitution for damages, all within the discretion of the court.
Police do respond to shots fired call and collect spent shell casings that are held for a possible match to a gun recovered in a later case or for fingerprints.
