Mac was a renaissance man -- highly intelligent, creative, and artistic, he was adept with any visual art medium and various musical instruments. He was a "blues brother" to countless blues musicians. Living in Clarksdale, Mississippi, birthplace of the blues, he was instrumental in creating and supporting blues festivals at The Crossroads.
As an army veteran, Mac was a patriotic American. He loved his country. Mac has been an Oklahoma Military Hall of Fame (OKMHF) Ambassador since the very beginning in 1999.
As a member of the Cherokee Nation he was inspired to create the Soldier/Indian medallion design and motto "Spirit of a Warrior, Heart of a Patriot" for the OKMHF.
Mac's creative career took him full circle from Oklahoma, Texas, The Enchanted Circle in New Mexico, Mississippi and back to Oklahoma, where several cities benefitted from his talents as a graphic artist, marketing and advertising executive, and successful grant writer. He developed local economies by promoting tourism.
The family requests that those wishing to honor Mac's memory do so by making a donation in Mac's honor to the Oklahoma Military Hall of Fame () or Flags for Vets ().
