The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) is investigating an officer-involved shooting involving the Olive Branch Police Department that occurred on Monday morning Sept. 16.
MBI was notified of this incident at approximately 9:50 a.m. Officers with the Olive Branch SWAT Team were attempting to serve an arrest warrant on a
subject at a residence on Railroad Avenue in Olive Branch.
"The subject presented a weapon towards the officers, MBI said in a statement. "The officers then discharged their weapons, striking the subject causing fatal injuries.
The involved officer did not receive any serious physical injuries," the statement continued. "This information is preliminary and subject to change.
MBI is currently assessing the incident and gathering evidence.
