Melonie Carol Turner Lester, 51, of Inverness, and formerly of Clarksdale, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Regional One Medical Center in Memphis.
Melonie was born in Indianola, to Voyd Douglas and Alice Carol Shepherd Turner on May 5, 1972. She worked as a Deputy Clerk for the City of Clarksdale for 28 years prior to her retirement in 2022.
Melonie was a very big hearted and generous person. She was always willing to take care of everybody. Melonie loved God and her family, especially her granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Melonie is survived by her daughter, Haley Lester Griffin (Matthew) of Inverness; granddaughter, Alice Jade Griffin of Inverness; brother, Steve Turner (Cheryl) of Boyle; dear friend, Melvin Burchfield; two nieces, Jordan Turner and Brittany Borganelli; and nephew, Fred Borganelli.
Visitation was held Saturday, June 17, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola with the funeral service at 2 p.m. with Rev. Tim Winters officiating. Burial followed in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Inverness. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Burton Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
