Auto Burglary Prevention
The Clarksdale Police Department is offering the following tips to reduce the chance of becoming a victim of auto burglary.
• Lock your vehicle. Over half of all vehicles burglarized or stolen were left unlocked. This includes both day and night and in your own home driveway.
• Do not leave valuables in plain view.
• Park in well-lit areas. Two things burglars don’t like – lights and witnesses.
• Do not leave personal identifying papers in car. While motorist are required to present insurance and title info, do not store originals in your car. Keep a copy in your wallet next to your driver’s license.
