Charles "Cheap Charlie" Hughey Wilson, 80, of Friars Point, former owner operator of Cheap Charlies, died Feb. 26, 2021 at Baptist Hospital, Oxford. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale with burial in the Friars Point Cemetery. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in is handling the arrangements.
Mr. Wilson was a devoted husband, Daddy, Granddaddy and Papaw. He also loved his friendship and relationship with his "Cheap Charlie" families. He was a Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus, member of Friars Point Lions Club, American Legion and Elks Lodge. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years Judy Whitworth Wilson of Friars Point, two daughters Karen Hook (Steven) of Avon, and Donna Wilson Lance (Rusty Shaw) of Crowder, son Benjy Lee (Debbie) of Rena Lara, two sisters Barbara Agostinelli of Lyon, and Linda Hood (Sidney) of Marks, five grandchildren Jeff Young (Becca), Justin Young (Jenna), Blair Casavechia (Josh) Nikki Hynum (Hunter) and Bill Carmical and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by daughter Cynthia Lynn Wilson, parents Hugh and Janet Melio Wilson and sister Nancy Wilson Maupin.
