The Clarksdale Police Department is investigating the shooting in north Clarksdale that has police looking for a black male.
Police were called to the 700 Block of South Edwards, near Desoto Avenue at 11:15 Thursday night on a report of a female being shot.
Reports filed by officers said they found a woman with a gunshot wound to the leg. She told police she was shot by an unknown black male while inside a home on Edwards.
The woman was transported to the hospital for her injuries.
The case has been called an aggravated assult, which is a felony, and has been assigned to a Clarksdale Police Department investigator and is an active investigation.
Clarksdale Assistant Chief Robbie Linley has asked anyone with information about this incident to call the Clarksdale Police Department at 621-8156, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or simply dial 911. All calls remain anonymous and cash is paid to those providing information that leads to solving a crime.

The Clarksdale Police Department responded to the following calls of shots fired from Dec. 19 through Dec. 21:
• Anderson and Maple Street.
• 400 Block of Bolivar Street.
• 1500 Block of Herrin Street.
