The Nation's Weather for Friday, February 3, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
The arrival of an Arctic cold front will spark snow showers
in the Great Lakes and interior Northeast tomorrow. In the
wake of the front, lake-effect snow is also likely.
Thunderstorms will rumble in central and southern portions
of South Carolina and Georgia and much of Florida. Rain in
coastal South Carolina, coastal Georgia and northeastern
Florida may be heavy enough to cause flooding in low-lying
and poor drainage areas. To the north, morning rain may mix
with a few snowflakes before precipitation comes to an end
in southern North Carolina and western South Carolina.
Milder air will arrive in the southern Plains, allowing some
of the ice from the recent storm to melt. Rain and mountain
snow will move into Washington, Oregon and Northern
California.
