The Nation's Weather for Sunday, December 17, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A significant storm will continue to evolve tomorrow,
producing the risk of severe thunderstorms in southeastern
Florida as well as near coastal zones from northern Florida
across the Carolinas and into far southeastern Virginia.
Tornadoes and strong wind gusts will be the main threats
from storms as they pivot to the north and east through the
day. Even outside of any severe weather, a large area from
the mid-Atlantic into parts of New England will face rain
and increasing winds, with the heaviest rain mainly expected
from Virginia southward. West of there, another area of
steady rain will track from Ohio into western Pennsylvania
as a separate storm tracks to the east, and some snow
reaches northern Minnesota and Upper Michigan. An offshore
storm brings showers to coastal California.
