The Nation's Weather for Thursday, September 29, 2022
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Ian will move across the central and northern Florida
Peninsula tomorrow with flooding downpours, damaging winds
and even a few tornadoes. Despite Ian moving farther inland,
elevated water levels over the Gulf of Mexico will take time
to fall. Elsewhere, afternoon thundershowers will rumble
through the mountains of Utah, Colorado and northern
Arizona. While widespread flooding is not expected, any
heavier storms can produce high rainfall rates. A storm
moving farther inland across the Northwest can produce
showers in eastern Washington, northern Oregon, northern and
central Idaho and western Montana. Much of the rest of the
nation will be dry. A clear sky and light winds may produce
a frost or freeze in portions of interior New England and
upstate New York at night.
