Fourth of July activities take place across from city hall in Jonestown. A fish fry was held and the community came together on the afternoon of the Fourth of July last Friday. In the first photo, residents have fun in the bounce house. In the second photo, residents have fish at the fish fry and come together for fun.

20th annual Dr. Booker Day held

Dr. William Booker has been a family practice specialist at Aaron E. Henry Community Health Services Center for 40 years and has been honored with a day recognizing him for the past 20 years.
The 20th annual Dr. Booker Day was on June 27 at the Coahoma County Expo Center.

Katherine Small, 97, a long-time Clarksdale resident departed this earthly life on July 2, 2025, in Southaven, at the home of her daughter Mary Wilson.
Funeral is July 12, 2025, at 11 a m at Belmount Missionary Baptist Church in Marks.
Delta Burial Corporation in Clarksdale is in charge of arrangements.

Public viewing will be on July 11, 2025 at the funeral home from 2 to 5 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on July 13, 2025, at Union Grove M.B. Church at 2 p.m. with Pastor Anthony Jones presiding. Burial follows at Oakridge Cemetery.
