A 22-year-old man who was charged with stealing a vehicle from the parking lot of a hotel last week was captured after a short vehicle and foot pursuit.
Jeremy Rash was placed in the Coahoma County Jail and charged with grand larceny.
At about 7:13 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, officers with the Clarksdale Police Department were called out to the Hampton Inn at 15000 New Africa Road as a 2019 Nissan Rogue was reported stolen from the hotel parking lot.
On Thursday, Feb. 14, at around 3:01 a.m., patrol officers spotted the vehicle and a short pursuit began. The suspect jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot before he was captured in the 400 block of Quincy Street.
Rash made his initial appearance in the Clarksdale Municipal Court on Thursday, Feb. 14.
