Two men have been charged with the burglaries of a Clarksdale home and business.
Lewis Robinson, 27, and Henry Clay, 27, both of Clarksdale, were arrested on Tuesday, Jan. 8 and charged with two counts of burglary, one residential and the other commercial.
Clarksdale Police Chief Sandra Williams said police believe the two broke into a home located in the 700 block of Mississippi Street on Dec. 29 and took a number of household items, including dishes, washing detergent, a television, heater, laundry basket and cookware. She said some of the property was recovered.
Police believe the two also teamed up to break into Annie Bell’s Lounge, located at 1406 N. State St., on Dec. 21 and took a 75-inch television.
Both Robinson and Clay made their initial appearance in Clarksdale Municipal Court on Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 8.
Their cases were bound over to the Coahoma County Grand Jury. Bond was set at $50,000 on each charge for a total of $100,000 for each defendant.
As of Sunday afternoon, Robinson was still incarcerated at the Coahoma County Jail, while Clay had posted bail and was released.
