Two men have been charged in the burglary of a Clarksdale church.
Jerome Allen, 56, and James Person, 25, were each charged with commercial burglary for the Feb. 5 break-in at the First United Methodist Church at 405 E. Second St. in Clarksdale.
Police were called to the church at around 2 p.m. Feb. 5 after the break-in was discovered. Officers reviewed video surveillance of two male subjects walking through the alley and entering the church. Investigators identified the two was Allen and Persons.
Investigators arrested Allen on the 200 block of Desoto Street at around 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12, while Persons was arrested about 30 minutes later.
Both Allen and Persons were placed in the Coahoma County Jail and their initial court appearance was Thursday, Feb. 14 in Clarksdale Municipal Court.
