Bro. Ray Simpson, 87, a music minister at Riverside Baptist Church, died Jan. 4, 2020 at Northwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center. Visitation is noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020 at Riverside Baptist Church in Clarksdale. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Riverside Baptist Church with burial in the Oakridge Cemetery. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale is handling the arrangements.
Bro. Ray was a Navy Veteran and former Member of the Conservation League. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons Chuck Simpson and Steve (Belinda) Simpson all of Clarksdale; seven grandchildren Will Simpson of Jackson, John Charles Simpson of Collierville, Tenn., Mark Simpson of Orlando, Fla., Lori Beasley of Hoover, Ala., Matt Simpson of North Augusta, S.C., Austin Simpson of Starkville, and Anna Glaydon of Germantown, Tenn.; 12 great grandchildren William Simpson, Anabelle Beasley, Jack Beasley, Ali Clare Simpson, Russell Beasley, Adeline Simpson, Jack Simpson, Tate Simpson, Drew Simpson, Lee Lee Simpson, Preston Simpson and Luke Simpson.
He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Holloway Simpson, son Mike Simpson, daughter-in-law Patricia Pittman Simpson and brother Thomas Simpson.
Memorials may be sent to Riverside Baptist Church or donor’s choice.
