Captain Mack Martin, 87, of McCool, formerly of Clarksdale, a retired Captain Clarksdale Police Department and Coahoma County Deputy Sheriff, died Nov. 28, 2020 at his home. Visitation is Friday, Dec. 4, 2020, 10-11 am at Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, MS. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Friday at Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale with burial in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale is handling the arrangements.
Mr. Martin was a U.S. Army Korean Veteran. He was a member of Mississippi Law Enforcement Assoc., Tenn-MS Peace Officer Assoc., National Sheriff's Assoc, Conservation League and member of Big Eddie Fishing Club. He was a member of Clarksdale Baptist Church.
Survivors include: daughter Ellen Martin Sheedy (James) of McCool, seven grandchildren Joshua Sheedy, Brandon Sheedy, Phil Sheedy, Jamie Sheedy, Jennifer Ramage, Amanda Hymans and Richard Moss. and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by wife Barbara Day Martin, parents George and Ellen Echles Martin.
