Charles went to be with his Lord Sept. 2, 2019. He was born March 2, 1933 to Willie Philpot Hannah and James Ervin Hannah in Mattson, he served in the Airforce and was stationed in El Paso, Texas, when he married his childhood sweetheart, Flossie Youngblood. It would have been their 66th wedding anniversary Sept. 4.
Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019 at Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale. Funeral Services are 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019 at Meredith-Nowell Chapel in Clarksdale with burial in the Drew Cemetery in Drew. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale is handling the arrangements.
Charles worked for American Hardware / Emhart / Black & Decker for 34 years as Production Manager. He also was co-owner of H &W Awing. Charles was a member of the McDonald’s Coffee Club, a lifetime member of the Elks Club, a member of the American Legion, and a member of Oakhurst Baptist Church.
He and his bride had three children, two sons: Wayne (Donna) Hannah of Boerne, Texas and Greg (Camilla) Hannah of San Antonio, Texas and one daughter Martha (Mike) Harthcock of Clarksdale.
He leaves three brothers: Dale (Alice) Hannah of Conroe, Texas, Tommy (Valerie) Hannah of Pipcreek, Texas and Richard (Mary) Hannah of Huntsville, Ala.; four grandchildren: Amber Harthcock of Memphis, Tenn., Chuck (Carol) Hannah of Jordanton, Texas, Jim (Memee) Harthcock of Merigold; Jamie (Paul) Faughn of Rosenburg, Texas; seven great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren, and a host of nephews and nieces.
Charles was predeceased by his parents, one sister, Mary Etta Timmes and one brother-in-law, Thomas Timmes.
