Clarence Marion Cariker, Jr., 84, of Dundee, a retired Corporate Pilot at Day Co. for 30 years and Farmer and President of Yazoo MS Delta Levee Board, passed away August 11, 2019 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis. Visitation is noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday August 13, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Tunica. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Tunica with burial in the Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial Funeral Home in Tunica is handling the arrangements.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Tunica where he was a deacon, past President of the deacons and past Treasurer. He was a member of Lions Club and Rotary. He earned Apprentice in Masonic Lodge. He started with the Yazoo MS Delta Levee Board in 1994, serving as Vice President from 2014 to 2017 before becoming President. He served his country being a Pilot in the Air Force. He came back and farmed with his father-in-law in 1958 on the land that he and his son Justin farmed together until his retirement.
He is survived by his sons Chuck Cariker (Jackie) of Tunica and Justin Cariker (Shelby) of Dundee; grandchildren Meagan Jones (Corey), Heath Cariker (Brittany), Connor Cariker and Leland Cariker and three great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his wife Kay Frank Cariker and parents Clarence and Sadie Barrentine Cariker and sister Elise Moore.
