Judy Kay Reynolds Sexton, 70, of Clarksdale passed away Sept. 17, 2020 at Baptist Desoto in Southaven.
She was born Sept. 29, 1949 in Henning, Tenn. to Victor and Daphne Reynolds. She studied nursing at Texas A&M University in Texarkana, Texas where she became a LPN. She also attended cosmetology school. She retired as a certified medical coding specialist. She loved working and enjoyed being around people so much that she was often found working in the evenings at the Ranchero in Clarksdale before retiring. She was a vibrant person with a fun and outgoing personality.
She was preceded in death by her only child, Marshall Wayne Sexton, her parents, Victor and Daphne Reynolds, her grandparents, John & Blanche Goode and Newman & Ida Reynolds, sisters, Linda Claire Reynolds, Shirley Ann Rainey, Betty Jean Cox, Sue Pitts, and Benny Wade Smith, and brother Vicky Reynolds I.
She is survived by her brothers, Andy Reynolds (Sharon) and Lynn Reynolds of Clarksdale, Victor Reynolds of Brighton, Mich., and sister, Peggy Brewer of Ruleville.
Although Judy did not have grandchildren, her grand-nieces and grand-nephews, Ethan and Kate Eliot Stubbs of Sumner and Holden, Audrey, and Ella Walters of Starkville, were her heart and she was their “JuJu”. She also had many nephews, nieces, and cousins that she adored.
Judy was one of a kind, so of course, she did not want to have anything traditional. She requested that her family not have a funeral or a visitation, but rather a party in her honor. A Celebration of Life party for family and close friends will be held on Oct. 10, 2020 complete with all of her favorite foods and anything and everything turquoise and leopard print!
Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
