Lou Ann passed away Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. Funeral Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church in Clarksdale. Visitation will immediately follow.
Lou Ann, a Clarksdale resident, was raised in Lula, where she attended school at Lula-Rich. She later attended Clarksdale High School and graduated in 1954. She then attended the University of Mississippi and was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority.
She married her husband Richard in 1956 and worked in the Coahoma County Tax Collector’s office and later in the Circuit Clerk’s office. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Community Bible Study for many years.
She is survived by her sons Ricky (Suzanne) Weiss of Clarksdale, Joe (Wendy) Weiss of Collierville, Tenn.; daughter Lou Anne (Jeff) Shepherd of Columbus; six grandchildren Rich Weiss, Elizabeth Weatherall, Cissy Weiss, John Simpson, Alex Nosef, Anne Clark Shepherd; six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Weiss; father G.L. “Buddy” Bass and her grandparents, B.H. and Lula Lee Bass, who raised her.
