Max Leon Furrey, Jr., 65, a retired electrical technical maintenance worker from Lyon, died Nov. 1, 2019 at his home. Visitation is 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2019 at Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale. Funeral services are 3 p.m. Wednesday at Meredith-Nowell Chapel in Clarksdale with burial in the Memorial Gardens. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale is handling the arrangements.
Mr. Furrey was a Methodist. He was a big Memphis State Tigers fan.
He is survived by his wife Cyndi Chrestman Furrey of Lyon; sons Max Leon Furrey III (Raye) of Cleveland, Texas, and Christopher Calvin Furrey (Valerie) of Gulfport; sisters Sandy Furrey Tindall (Richard) of McGehee, Aek. and Katherine Furrey Owen (William Lynn) of Atoka, Tenn.; grandchildren Dalton and Hunter Kirkley and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Max L. Furrey, Sr. and Opal Yarbrough Furrey; sister Phyllis Furrey Harkins (Gary) and granddaughter Magen Hughes.
