Snooks Blaine had a life full of family and friends and possessed a love for The Lord. She was baptized at a young age in her hometown of Zama. She was raised in the Pentecostal Faith but attended a few Baptist churches during her life.
She loved all sorts of arts and crafts including quilting, ceramics, macrame, and in her latter years, coloring. But most of all she had a love for children and it showed in her home-life as well as her job. She not only raised her own children, but many others that she considered her own. Her family was not limited to immediate family only, but included many, many friends who called her “Momma” or “Aunt Snooks”. Her love for children overflowed into her job as she drove a school bus for Coahoma County School District for 32 years. She developed a unique love for each one of her students. To this day, the family hears stories from past students who are now adults of lessons she taught them and how they still hold much
love and respect for her. Her bus driving days included (now unheard of) her grandbabies riding in bassinets daily in the front seat.
Today, she has been reunited in Heaven to her loving husband and son who she missed dearly, and she is finally able to hold that baby girl who she never got the chance to love on. Services for Snooks Blaine will be held from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 14, 2020 at Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home for immediate family only, followed by graveside services at 11 a.m. at Memorial Gardens Cemetery for all family and friends.
