Patricia Wagner McCandless, 92, of Indianola, passed away peacefully Jan. 11, 2020, at her home.
Ms. McCandless was born in Clarksdale to Edgar and Laura Durham Wagner. She attended school in Clarksdale. Patricia married Charles Clifton McCandless on May 18, 1945 and together, they made their home in Rosedale, later they moved to Greenville, and after retirement, they moved to Indianola. Ms. McCandless worked as a bank teller and retired from Deposit Guaranty Bank after 20 years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, and enjoyed making visits to see her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved watching all her grandchildren and great grandchildren participate in all types of sports and the arts. Her favorite times were her one on one conversations with her friends and family. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Indianola.
Ms. McCandless was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Laura Wagner; her husband, Charles Clifton McCandless; one sister, Marion Skelton; and two brothers, Edgar Wagner and Richard Wagner.
She is survived by one daughter, Suzanne McCandless Coleman and her husband Bill of Indianola; one son, Charles Richard McCandless and his wife Diane Orr of Leland; one brother, Robert Wagner of California; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020 at the funeral service at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial will follow in Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any charity of the donor’s choice.
