Robert Waller, 77, of Clarksdale, passed away on November 26, 2109, at Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland. Visitation was 1 to 2 p.m. Nov. 30, 2019, at Ray Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Service following immediately after with Brother James Kellum officiating. A burial followed at 3 p.m. at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Clarksdale.
Mr. Robert was born on April 8, 1942 to Mr. Robert Harvey Waller Sr. and Mrs. Marion Blanche Wagner in Clarksdale, MS. He earned a Master’s degree in Education that he used to be a professor first at The University of Mississippi and then at Delta State University of mathematics for forty-three years. Robert enjoyed golf, playing cards, and candling. He was a lifeguard for the Clarksdale Community Pool, and he was also a part-time teacher at Bayou Academy in Cleveland.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Robert Harvey Waller Sr. and Mrs. Marion Blanche Wagner and his stepfather, Bill Skelton (Jane) who was MIA in WW2.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Mary Helen Waller, daughters; Jennifer Waller (Paul) of Clarksdale, Tara Waller Wooley (Terry) of Oliva Branch, step-daughter, Caroline Crawfor Laster (David) of Cleveland, sister, Marion Debra Skeleton (Jackson) of Cleveland, brother, Dana W. Skeleton of Terrel, Texas, grandsons; Tanner Wooley, Jon Albert Wooley, and Crawford Laster.
The pallbearers will be Jimmy Childress, Michael Regineli, and Steve Marcas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lebonheur Children’s Hospital or charity of your choice.
