Wayne L. Ashby, 83, a Lyon resident, retired farmer and co-owner and operator of the family grocery store, passed away Saturday August 3, 2019 at home. Visitation is 11 a.m. to noon Monday, August 5, 2019 at Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale. Graveside service is at noon Monday, August 5, 2019 at Memorial Gardens in Lyon. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdal is handling the arrangements.
Wayne was in the U.S. Army for three years and served eighteen months in Germany, which he loved.
Survivors include his two daughters Kim Brothers of Cordova, Tenn., Donna Garcia of Collierville, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and sister Bobbie Sue Tedford of Clarksdale.
He was preceded in death by his parents William Earl and Helen Hudson Ashby.
