The Mississippi Heritage Trust on Thursday announced the recipients of the 2020 Heritage Awards recognized at a ceremony in Natchez earlier this summer and a Clarksdale property made the list.
The Traveler’s Hotel of Clarksdale was one of 14 in the "Heritage Awards of Merit for Restoration" category.
Presented by BankPlus, the Heritage Awards of Merit for Restoration were:

• Walter Place, Holly Springs

• Butterfield Mansion, Brookhaven
• Concord Quarters, Natchez
• Ellis Theater, Cleveland
• Guaranty Bank, Greenwood
• Lamar Life Building, Jackson
• The Mason Boutique Hotel, Louisville
• Square Market, Grenada
• The Faulkner, Jackson
• Traveler’s Hotel, Clarksdale
• DSU Young Maudlin Cafeteria, Cleveland
A total of 39 properties, organizations and individuals were recognized at the 2020 Heritage Awards Celebration.
A special Presidential Award recognized the ongoing work of the Historic Natchez Foundation as a champion for the preservation of the special character of Natchez. Belinda Stewart Architects was recognized with the Mississippi Heritage Trust Board of Trustees Award for Organizational Achievement.
